- As far as I know, the only "good" notation software for the Amiga is Dr. T's
- Copyist DTP. I have use this for a couple of years. It does a pretty good
- job of printing even on a dot matrix. Laser is best.
-
- This was a port from the IBM PC DOS version and uses multiple key strokes for
- most entries. The mouse is also used for placing objects and some editing
- features. Copyist can convert SMUS and standard MIDI files to music notation.
- However it cannot accept live MIDI data nor can it playback MIDI to your MIDI
- equipment.
-
- The Copyist is quite primitive compared to other Platform notation packages
- such as ENCORE. However it is also very cheap if you can still find it. I
- saw it advertised last year for around $50 US. I paid $300 for it when I
- bought it.
-
- Of course you can always use Deluxe Music Construction Set although the print
- quality is poor. As a matter of fact I use DMCS to do my initial step entry
- from my keyboard then convert to SMUS, import into Dr T's Copyist then do the
- final editing and print.
-
- Good luck
